no time to spare with the all ongoing work projects i'm involved in. btw, if you don't fancy cake then what would you suggest as an alternative?
I don't know if you were active back in the day, when the whole Cuesheet scene started.
But back in the day, sites were made from scratch with php 3,4 / mysql 3,4, and that was almost 11 years ago, and it ran faster than the site your developing. (i'll see if i can pop mine back up again, the old one)
Anything is better than Cake, since Cake back-loads everything it does, at least twice, running the code, then into memory, then displaying it.
But if you insist on using Cake, then at least drop the tables...
Tables was last seen back in 2005... CSS1...
We're dealing with CSS3 now, tables are, looong gone. Plus it makes it a lot easier to skin the site, if your not planning to make Version's.
